White Chocolate Walnut Brownies with a Strawberry Swirl

Today’s post is going to be a rather short one, I’ve had one of those non-stop weeks and the weekend is going to be just as busy.  However I had a movie night with the kiddos last night (Tangled was super cute!) and needed a quick treat to pull together and had a lot of odds and ends as far as baking supplies went that really needed to be used up.  Hence these brownies were born

You may remember my white chocolate brownie post from last month.  Well I still had some white chocolate left from that, along with some walnuts at the bottom of the bag, oh and some strawberry preserves that really needed to be used up.  They turned out fantastic!  The flavor combination between the nuts, the sweet chocolate and the fruity and slightly tart quality of the preserves really made this a great snack.  Warning: they are highly addictive!

Make the white chocolate brownies from the afore-mentioned post

then stripe them with some jam

run a knife through them to swirl it

pop them in the oven!

White Chocolate Walnut Brownies with a Strawberry Swirl

Ingredients:

White chocolate brownie batter
1/3 cup strawberry preserves or jam (or jelly)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).  Prepare brownie batter with walnuts and pour into prepared pan.  Warm jam in microwave just until it’s loose enough spread easily.  Pour the jam into a pastry bag or freezer bag with a corner snipped off.  Stripe the batter with the jam and swirl a knife through it.  Bake according to the directions of the brownie post.  Cool and eat!
